Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and you might be struggling to find an easy treat to celebrate. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Cupcake toppers are the quickest and easiest way to add theme to just about ANY cupcake. Seriously, problem solved. Boom.
The cupcakes are actually my spice cupcakes with brown sugar frosting from last week, and ohmygod were they good. The toppers totally made them though.
These glittered heart cupcake toppers are a great solution to Valentine’s Day treats because they are super easy and still look totally glamorous. Bonus:add fun cupcake liners to give your cupcakes a theme. I just added some watercolor to the bottom of white liners!
- Heavy glittered scrapbook paper
- Hot glue gun
- Stencil or shape punch (optional)
You can either cut hearts out of the paper yourself or use a heart-shaped punch, but that’s not an item everyone has, including me. Use a pencil to draw a heart on the backside of the paper and cut it out, shaping it until it’s perfect. Use this as a stencil to trace the rest of the hearts on the backside of the paper and cut them out. Then place two hearts back to back, glittery sides out, and use your scissors to shape them until they match up perfectly.
Heat up your glue gun and glue a small amount on the inside bottom of the heart. Stick the toothpick to it, add more glue on top, and stick the other heart on top of it, adjusting it however necessary to make the two hearts line up. Give it a minute to dry and remove any loose strings.
Pop your finished heart cupcake toppers on top of your favorite cupcakes for a fun themed treat, and serve. They’re simple but adorable, and people will love them. Enjoy (and happy Valentine’s Day)!
